Geometric Precision Gunmetal Split Spoke Concept
Ready Designs
This design concept was developed to provide a technical counterpoint to the fluid, organic lines of a modern grand tourer. The goal was to move away from traditional rounded spoke profiles in favor of something more architectural and skeletal. By utilizing a split five-spoke architecture, the design achieves a high strength-to-visual-weight ratio. Each main branch emerges from a recessed center and diverges into a sharp 'Y' formation that reaches the very edge of the outer lip, maximizing the perceived diameter of the wheel. The gunmetal metallic finish was selected specifically to bridge the gap between high-contrast black and traditional silver. It offers a sophisticated, muted reflection that highlights the intricate surfacing of the spokes. Notice how the light catches the chamfered edges of the split sections, emphasizing the depth created by the concave profile. This concavity is central to the design intent, as it draws the eye toward the center of the wheel, providing a sense of width and a more aggressive stance without overcomplicating the vehicle's side profile. From a design perspective, the slimness of the spokes allows for a clear view of the braking components, which reinforces a high-performance character. The transition from the center hub to the outer barrel is handled with sharp, deliberate angles rather than soft curves, giving the wheel a modern, machined aesthetic. This setup transforms the presence of the vehicle, shifting it from a purely elegant cruiser to something that feels more precise and engineered. The balance between the deep grey metallic of the wheels and the bright silver bodywork creates a layered, monochromatic look that feels cohesive and intentional. This concept is about refining the classic five-spoke layout through contemporary geometry and a focus on structural elegance.
