I wanted to create something that matched the ultra-clean, minimalist aesthetic of modern performance EVs and fastbacks. The primary goal for this design was to establish a sense of kinetic tension. By utilizing a high-contrast two-tone finish, I was able to define two distinct layers of the wheel that interact differently with ambient light. The outer white structure behaves like a set of aerodynamic blades, sweeping forward in a directional pattern to suggest high-speed rotation even when the vehicle is at a standstill. These white blades are not just flat surfaces; they feature subtle chamfered edges and a slight twist that helps pull the eye toward the center of the hub. Beneath the primary white structure, the dark metallic inner layer provides the structural foundation. I opted for these organic, teardrop-shaped cutouts to reduce the visual mass of the spokes and lean into an aero-efficient, futuristic look. This dual-layer approach adds significant depth, which is particularly evident when viewing the wheel from a three-quarter angle. You can see how the white elements wrap around the darker recesses, creating a complex three-dimensional profile that standard single-color wheels simply cannot achieve. Choosing a bright white finish for the face was a deliberate move to contrast against the satin gray body of the car. It shifts the focal point to the wheels, balancing the heavy visual weight of the rear quarter panels and the sloping roofline. The result is a setup that feels deeply integrated into the car’s design language while offering a custom, prototype-like character. The fitment is intentionally flush to the fenders, ensuring that the directional energy of the spokes flows seamlessly into the vehicle’s character lines. This concept is all about moving away from traditional spoke patterns and embracing a more fluid, sculptural form that emphasizes the car’s unique silhouette.
