For the longest time, I was convinced antique bronze was the right answer. I'd seen it on sports cars, SUVs, even a few EV builds, and every time it caught my eye. It added warmth, looked premium, and had just enough personality without being loud. So when I found this wheel on JamesJack, I never questioned the original antique bronze finish. I thought my decision was already made. Before placing the order, I uploaded my iX into See It On Your Car, mostly because I wanted to double-check the fitment. Instead, it changed my mind about the finish. The antique bronze wasn't ugly—not even close. It was actually a beautiful color. But against the clean white body and the modern design of the iX, it started pulling the car in a completely different direction. The wheels felt more traditional, while the rest of the vehicle felt unmistakably futuristic. That's when I realized I wasn't trying to build a different SUV. I was trying to bring out what already made the iX unique. I opened AI Custom, not with a specific color in mind, but with a simple idea: "Keep the elegance, but make it feel more electric." The AI explored cooler metallic finishes, brighter whites, softer machined textures, and subtle variations I never would have thought to compare side by side. Every adjustment felt less like changing the wheel and more like refining the personality of the whole vehicle. When the bright white version appeared, I knew I was done. It reflects the architecture around the car, picks up the changing light, and highlights the sculpted surfaces without demanding attention. The wheel still has the same design that first drew me in—it just speaks the same design language as the iX now. Funny enough, I didn't change my mind because I stopped liking antique bronze. I changed it because I finally understood what my car was trying to say.
